Glux LED creates the 2010 CCTV Spring Festival Gala's Visual Feast

500 3D video pillars

When the famous sing queen Wang Fei sang in the Spring Festival Gala this year, an huge dark blue planet emerged in the large LED screen behind her; instantly, the planet becomes a towering tree, fluttering butterflies seems just around the queen, the beautiful ecological background, accompanied by clear and ethereal voice, makes people feel like in dreams.

 "The three-dimensional planet and tree is the effect created by the above said 500 3D video pillars. This is the secret weapon Glux developed for this year's Spring Festival Gala --LED HD CYsn, they are also the protagonist of the stage art of this year's Spring Festival Gala. Although the audience did not wear 3D glasses, they can still feel the 3D stereoscopic scene. "Manager Xie of Glux said that every side of these pillars is covered by LED screens, 500 pillars were equipped with a total of 1,200 square meters of screen, which can transform the combination like Transformers, randomly form a variety of shapes.

Besides the LED screens, there is no more decorations in the middle of the stage. Each video pillar is 2 meters long, which are suspended above the stage. Such installation method made high demands for the weight and thickness of the LED screens. Manage Xie of Glux explained that "This is the biggest technical problem we have ever encountered during the whole R&D, design and production processes." He added that in last June when Glux received CCTV’s order regarding the "digital stage", Glux gathered its elites to set out to design the products, and in September the production started, it took three months to complete the production. General weight of 1 square meter of LED screen is more than 20 kg, while the weight of one square meter of CYsn is only 10 kg. To maximize the weight, the devices used inside the screen are all made of super light materials, and they are mostly produced by Glux. The ultra-small screws used to connect the screens are what Glux specifically produced by an investment of RMB 10million in the production line, you cannot find such a small screw even in the whole country.

The surface of CYsn used Glux’s unique patent technology of light-absorbing mask, it is not only rain-proof, flexible, but also is very helpful in enhancing the visual effect of screens; the screen with a refresh rate more than 600HZ made the image clear and stable; in addition, this CYsn product also supports multi-window flexible playing software and interactive software, which makes it easy to transform a variety of images.

Stage floor

“Scroll” SEfl in the Olympic Games’ opening ceremony

In addition to the 500 three-dimensional video pillars, the screens on the stage floor are also Glux’s products. Surprisingly, this ground is actually equipped with the screens used in the “Scroll” of the 2008 Beijing Olympic Games’ opening ceremony.

The 500 square meters of screen used on the floor are also Glux’s unique patented technological products - "SEfl". "Scroll" of the Olympic Games’ opening ceremony is the products of Glux which were used in form of rent. After the project finished, the “Scroll” shall be disassembled into small pieces of screens. In the following days, these screens will continue to be used in many large-scale activities all over the country. For the project in the World University Games held in Harbin last year, Glux used dozens of trucks to transport the screens. This time, the screens used are only one-eighth the size of “Scroll” of the Olympic Games.

The SEfl product can not only be quickly dismantled, its firm and durable die-cast alloy aluminum structure, and the high wear resistance and resin layout enabled it to withstand actors’ stepping on, water immersion and other tests. It is said that to test the tolerance of SEfl, the famous director Zhang Yimou conducted dozens of rounds of “devil” tests, for example, put the products in water for three days nights when the power is connected; the actors use stick and shovel to hit the screens; the actors kept jumping on the surface of the screens etc. Finally, the product was chosen. It is reported that the life of SEfl is 10 years, which means that there is more chances for us to see the "Scroll" shining in many performances of major events in future.
